Before you start
Smartplannr publishes to personal LinkedIn profiles. Company Pages need a separate LinkedIn partner programme, so they aren’t supported yet. LinkedIn also asks you to reconnect your profile every 60 days; Smartplannr reminds you before the connection runs out.
How to schedule a LinkedIn post
- Connect your profileIn Smartplannr, open Settings, then Social Accounts, and sign in with LinkedIn.
- Choose the kind of postText, one photo, a carousel of 2 to 20 photos, or a PDF document.
- Write the postUp to 3,000 characters. LinkedIn shows about the first two lines before “…more”, so lead with the point.
- Schedule itPick a date and time, or the next posting slot. It publishes from your profile on its own.
Carousels and documents
A LinkedIn carousel is a swipeable post of slides. LinkedIn takes them as a PDF document, so Smartplannr turns your photos into one for you, a page per photo, in the order you set.
- Carousels: 2 to 20 photos, and a title, which LinkedIn shows above the slides.
- Square (1080 × 1080) or portrait (1080 × 1350) slides read best on phones. Keep every slide the same shape.
- PDF documents: up to 100 MB and 300 pages, also with a title. A slide deck or a one-page guide works well.
- Photos: under 36 million pixels each, which any phone photo is.
What Smartplannr can’t schedule on LinkedIn yet
- Company Pages.
- Videos and article-style link previews.
- Tagging people. You can type their name, but it won’t become a link to their profile.
