Before you start
Facebook lets scheduling tools publish to Pages only, not to personal profiles or groups. You need to be an admin of the Page, or have permission to create content on it.
How to schedule a Facebook post
- Connect your PageIn Smartplannr, open Settings, then Social Accounts, sign in with Facebook and choose the Pages to connect.
- Choose the kind of postText, one photo, up to 10 photos, a video, a link with its preview, or a Story.
- Write the postFacebook allows over 63,000 characters, but the first two lines are what people see before “See more”. Add a first comment if you want one.
- Schedule itPick a date and time, or the next posting slot. It publishes as your Page, and comments arrive in your inbox.
Sizes and formats
- Photos: JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP or TIFF, up to 10 MB each. 1080 × 1350 (4:5) and 1080 × 1080 (square) both show well in the feed.
- Multiple photos: up to 10 in one post.
- Link posts: Facebook builds the preview from the page you link to, so check that page’s title and image first.
- Reels: one vertical 9:16 video, at least 540 × 960, of 3 to 90 seconds, with a caption. A Page can publish 30 a day this way.
- Stories: one 9:16 photo or video, at least 540 × 960; videos run 3 to 60 seconds, with no caption.
What Smartplannr can’t schedule on Facebook yet
- Posts to personal profiles and groups, which Facebook doesn’t allow any tool to publish to.
- Stickers, links and music in Stories.
Facebook or Meta Business Suite?
Meta Business Suite schedules Facebook and Instagram for free. A scheduler earns its place when you also post to LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube or X, need approvals, or manage several businesses.
