How to add Smartplannr to ChatGPT

  1. Turn on developer mode

    In a ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu workspace, an admin turns on developer mode in the workspace settings.

  2. Add a custom MCP server

    In ChatGPT, open Plugins, choose +, then Add custom MCP server. Name it Smartplannr, paste https://smartplannr.com/api/mcp and choose OAuth.

  3. Sign in and allow

    ChatGPT opens Smartplannr’s sign-in page: sign in, check it’s ChatGPT asking, and choose Allow.

  4. Ask ChatGPT

    Try “Plan three LinkedIn posts for next week about our autumn menu and save them as drafts.”

  • Plan the week

    “Write five Instagram posts for next week in our brand voice and schedule them at 9am each day.”

  • An image for the offer

    “Make a square image that says ‘Two for £5, Fridays’ and add it to Friday’s post.”

  • Check what’s coming

    “What’s scheduled for tomorrow, and does anything still need approval?”

Good to know

  • Custom connectors that make changes are a ChatGPT Business, Enterprise and Edu feature, with developer mode on.
  • ChatGPT’s menus change from time to time. OpenAI’s help article on developer mode has the latest steps.
  • Photos and videos must already be in your media library; ChatGPT attaches them but can’t upload files.
  • Posts that include TikTok are saved as drafts, so you can choose TikTok’s audience settings in Smartplannr.

OpenAI currently limits custom MCP connectors that make changes, like Smartplannr’s, to ChatGPT Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces, with developer mode turned on by an admin. OpenAI changes this from time to time, so check its help article for your plan. Claude allows custom connectors on every plan, including Free.

No. You sign in to Smartplannr and choose Allow; ChatGPT gets access to your Smartplannr account only, and your social networks stay connected on our servers.

It can write the post, which is saved as a draft. TikTok asks you to choose who can see each video, so you finish and schedule it in Smartplannr.
